Coloured smoke grenades igniting in sequence against a white sky: dense billows of magenta, then cyan, then yellow smoke boiling upward and outward, the clouds churning and interpenetrating where they meet, tendrils curling off the edges. Slow motion, static locked-off camera

Drops of vivid ink released into a tank of clear water: magenta, cobalt and gold plumes sinking and blooming into feathered mushroom shapes, tendrils branching and curling as they spread, the colours meeting but not fully mixing. Backlit against white, slow motion, macro, static locked-off camera

A powder paint throw in bright daylight: several handfuls of vivid pink, orange and green pigment flung toward the camera at once, the powder blooming into overlapping clouds mid-flight and drifting apart, individual grains visible at the leading edge. Backlit so the clouds glow, slow motion, static locked-off camera

A confetti cannon firing at a celebration: a dense burst of metallic gold and rainbow paper streamers exploding upward and outward, filling the frame, the pieces tumbling and catching stage light as they fan out and begin to drift down. Dark background, shafts of coloured light, slow motion, static locked-off camera

A sparkler burning at close range: the chemical head throwing off hundreds of white-hot branching sparks in all directions, each spark forking as it flies and burning out mid-air, the burn point creeping steadily down the wire. Pitch black background, macro, slow motion, static locked-off camera

Close on a long line of coloured dominoes toppling: the falling wave travels rapidly from left to right across the frame, tiles slapping down one after another in a continuous collapsing cascade, standing tiles ahead of the wave and a flat fallen trail behind it. The boundary advances the whole length of the shot and does not stop. Static locked-off camera
