A life-size sculpture of a human figure curled tightly on its side, knees drawn to the chest, arms wrapped around the shins, face hidden. Simplified smooth sculptural forms with no anatomical detail. The figure lies horizontally on its side ON TOP of the plinth, its long axis parallel to the plinth, one hip and one shoulder resting on the plinth surface, seen from the side like a sleeping person; it is not sitting upright and not kneeling. Woven and bound from dry golden RICE STRAW, the way Korean straw crafts are made: thousands of stalks gathered into tight twisted ropes that wrap around the body in spiralling coils, bound at intervals with thinner straw cord, loose ends bristling at the elbows and heels, a few grains of rice still caught in the weave, a scatter of fallen straw on the plinth. Warm, dry, slightly unruly. Plain concrete plinth in a bare gallery, even north light. Same pose, same camera angle at plinth height from the side. No text, no letters, no logos.
