A life-size sculpture of a human figure curled tightly on its side, knees drawn to the chest, arms wrapped around the shins, face hidden. Simplified smooth sculptural forms with no anatomical detail. Formed entirely from about a thousand small folded PAPER CRANES in white and pale pastel colours, packed tightly wing to wing so together they make the surface of the body, each crane about three centimetres long with crisp creases. At the fingertips and toes the cranes thin out, and a few seem to lift away from the body into the air just above the plinth. Plain concrete plinth in a bare gallery, even north light. Same pose, same camera angle at plinth height from the side. No text, no letters, no logos.
