The Horizon Inspector: on a vast flat salt plain at sunset, an inspector in a reflective vest and hard hat kneels beside an enormous aluminum spirit level, several meters long, laid exactly along the line where the sky meets the ground, checking its bubble with one eye closed. A survey tripod and a toolbox beside him, a few wooden stakes marking the section already checked. The figure is about 1/8 of the frame height, the sky filling the top 2/3. Matter-of-fact, routine. No text, no letters, no numbers anywhere.
