Colored light overpowers local color: inside a Korean street food tent (pojangmacha) at night, everything is lit by light filtering through the bright orange tarp walls, so the white plastic stools, the stainless steel counter, the white bowls of noodles and the rising steam all take on the same warm orange tint — the true colors of the objects are swallowed by the color of the light. Only a narrow sliver of street visible through the tent flap shows ordinary cold blue night. No text, no letters, no logos anywhere.
