Close on a potter's hands beating the wall of a tall Korean onggi earthenware jar: one hand inside holding a round wooden anvil against the wall, the other outside striking it with a flat wooden paddle, the dark brown clay wall thinning and tightening with each hit, the jar turning slowly on a kick wheel. First 2 seconds: three steady paddle strikes, a dull thud each time. Next 2 seconds: the wheel turns a little and the paddle moves higher up the wall. Final second: the paddle pauses and the surface shows fine overlapping beat marks. Only hands, forearms and clay in frame, no face. Soft workshop light, static locked-off camera. Korean onggi, not Chinese or Japanese pottery
