Close on two hands working a traditional Korean wooden hand plane along a pale pine board on a low workbench. Korean planes are pulled toward the body, so the hands draw the plane toward the camera. First 2 seconds: the hands press down and pull back in one long smooth stroke. Next 2 seconds: a single paper-thin, translucent wood shaving curls up out of the mouth of the plane and rolls into a long spiral. Final second: the plane lifts at the end of the board and the curl drops onto a pile of shavings, the planed surface left glossy smooth. Only hands, forearms and wood in frame, no face.
