The Sunrise Baker: before dawn in a small neighbourhood bakery kitchen, a plump middle-aged Korean baker in a flour-dusted apron and paper cap slides a long wooden peel out of a brick oven carrying a tray of a dozen small glowing sunrises, each a round loaf-sized dome of warm orange-gold light with a soft pink haze rising off it like steam. Cooling racks hold more finished sunrises. Flour on the steel worktable, a sack of flour, a kitchen timer. Ordinary early-shift routine, slightly sleepy expression. The only light in the room comes from the sunrises. No text, no letters, no logos anywhere.
